Yesterday I slept at around 2:30 am. I didn't watch the movie then, because I was too sleepy after writing the diary post. Today, I woke up first at around 9:20 am, only to see everyone in a hurry. Mom asked me to take a bath, but I was still sleepy, so I deferred. I woke up then at around 10:30 am. I brushed my teeth, and ate my breakfast. I watched the TV for a while, and then moved to my room. I checked my mails, and then started watching the movie "Source Code". Well, the concept didn't seem new but still it was good. It was about keeping the brain alive after death, and also how brain visualizes the real world and the unreal world. Then, I decided to watch - "Limitless". I liked it, and concept was somewhat new. Brain receptors were charged so that people can use not the usual 20% of their brain but the whole of it. It broadened the view of a person, and increased the capacity of the brain to analyse and interpret. After this, I moved my attention to work. Ankit was busy coding some part of the requirements, and I asked him if he required any help. He sent me the latest version, and then I started looking into one of the issues that he was facing. It was quite an interesting one, but soon realized that it was Ankit's silly mistake which created that error. Anyways, after that I had some Tea, and then my sister gave me the three rakhis - one from each sister. After that, I and my sister sat in my room and listened to some YouTube songs. Then, I received a mail from Ankit in which he had the latest version and with my changes pending. So, I started working on them, and completed them within two hours or so. Then, I had my dinner. I watched the TV for a while, and then returned to my room. I decided to watch the movie "The Smurfs". It is almost over, and it a good time pass movie- magic and all. Also, today India lost the third test match to England in a humiliating innings defeat. It was deemed as the worst loss in 40 years. Anyways, next I plan to complete the movie, and then sleep by 3:00 am.

Diary 106: No Office Day
Yesterday I slept at around 3:00 am. I had a discussion with Gil, and he mentioned some changes that he would like me to do to the code. Today, I woke up at around 11:15 am. I went online, and informed Ankit about the changes that Gil wants us to do. Then, I started trying those changes out. I came up with two scenarios and realized that the new changes will not have much effect on the running time of the code. So, I composed a huge mail addressed to Gil in which I explained both the ideas. I guess he gave up and replied that I can do whatever I feel best, as far as it gives the correct output. Then, after some time, a mountain landed on us, when Gil informed us that the client has been looking into our code and also has edited our code. The problem was the version of the code they were working on. I almost had my heart in my mouth as I was trying to open the new code, but later realized that the changes were minimal. But, on the other hand, Ankit and the rest of the team concluded that there were lots of changes. I asked Rohit and the example that he gave me was trivial. I realized that since they don't have a bit of idea about the code that I had written, they cannot judge the amount of change that the client has made. Anyways, I was relaxed at this point because I didn't have much work now. Ankit was facing problems in some issue, but I decided not to help him this time. Later, I found out that there were few more implementations which were pending, and noted them down. I will implement them as soon as I get a proper version of the code. Then, I moved my attention to the Test match going on between India and England, and realized that India has no hope left at all. Cook scored a whooping 294, and Sehwag again scored a duck. He scored a king of pairs in fact - which means that he got out for 0 on the first ball for two consecutive innings. At the end of the day, India were some 35/1 or so. Then, I decided to watch some movie and I chose "Bhindi Bazaar". Well, it was just OK, and had the same old gang war story. I stopped it in between, and started to watch "Source Code". But, before that, I decided to write this post. Next, I plan to watch the movie and then sleep by around 3:45 am.

Diary 105: Office Dinner Day
Yesterday I slept at around 2:30 am. I was working on some part of the code. Today, I woke up at around 10:15 am, and went online. I informed Sushma that I will be coming at around 6:30 pm. Then, Ankit told me that we have make an excel document where we need to describe all the mappers that we have built. So, I started preparing that document. Meanwhile, I was going through a bit of pain in my right ear due to the wisdom tooth. I worked on the document and sent an initial version to Ankit to check it out. Then Sarvesh pinged me and he started discussing about the document. We were supposed to go through each top level object and then write about its components. So, it was a big task. We divided work among ourselves, and then I started my work on the document. I was given the smaller part because of obvious reasons (I have been working on the code all throughout, and should not be given the larger documentation part too). At around 2:20 pm, I had my lunch, and moved back to the documentation part. It was turning out to be an awesome document mainly because it was well organized with tabs and hyperlinks. At around 4:20 pm, I stopped working and started getting ready to go to Andheri for the team dinner. I boarded the 5:12 Andheri local and reached office at around 7:15 pm. We all left for dinner and reached a restaurant named "Goa and Portuguese". Sushma came in with her husband and child. There was live music there, and the guitarist came in to our table and asked for a request. I asked him to play "Jaane Jaa". He started playing and I sang along with him. He thanked me and then left. I didn't receive much appreciation from my colleagues, but then I again realized that they were "IITians", who do not have the word "appreciation" in their dictionary. Anyways, I ate different types of food : prawns, bombdilla, chicken, paneer etc. After all this, we dispersed. I left for home. I reached home at around 12:00 am. Then, I went online and had some small chat with Gil where he explained some issues that he had mentioned. Then, I tried them out and it worked fine. Next, I started writing this post, and now I plan to sleep by around 3:00 am.

Diary 104: Office Day
Yesterday I slept at around 12:00 am. I slept early as I had to go to office the next day. Today, I woke up at around 7:35 am, and brushed my teeth. I was dying to take a bath because I didn't take bath for the last two days. After that, I got ready for office way earlier than expected. I left for office with Dad at around 8:45 am. I reached office at around 11:15 am. No one was there, expect Sushma. I opened my mail and saw a long list of issues and explanations. Gil somehow disregarded my doubts saying that they are not doubts, but then I kicked in and spoke to him directly about those. Then, he accepted his mistake and considered them once again. Later, when everyone kicked in, I and Ankit started troubleshooting. We found some errors, and we both started rectifying those. Then, I got a call from Akshay, and he said that we can talk to some uncle (his friend's uncle who has a website development agency) right now in a conference. So, he gave me a phone number and I dialed in. Then, pretty soon, uncle also joined in and we started explaining him the idea. After listening to all this, he seemed very interested in it, and even offered to do the whole thing at subsidized rates, and with no source code issues. After the call, I and Akshay were delighted and discussed strategies going forward. I informed Dallas and he was happy too.Meanwhile, we rectified the code and got a better output. Then, my focus turned towards Mukund, who as usual was flooded with doubts. He was sometimes talking ridiculously sometimes. I gave up on him and told him to try out his strategies first. He tried and then it didn't work, as expected. Later, I realized that Sarvesh is doing nothing and is enjoying YouTube videos in the office. I was disgusted by that, not because I had to work day and night, but because he could have helped Mukund solve the issues but he didn't. Anyways, I left the office at around 5:40 pm, and reached Bandra by 6:30 pm. Then, I caught up with Dad in his office, and left for home. We reached Kharghar at around 8:00 pm. My sister was eager to eat Paani Puri, so we went there and had some. We came back, took some rest and then I started working on the Mukund's part. I informed Gil about Mukund's situation and he noted it down, hopefully. Then I went offline, and even switched off my phone so that no body tells me to work during that time. Meanwhile, I had my dinner. After that, I kept working on his part, and realized that it is not as easy as it looks but is doable. As expected, I was able to get an output from it. Also, one more thing I forgot to mention is about the Third Test Match between India and England. Well, India failed once again, although this time Dhoni saved India from a very early collapse by scoring 70 odd runs. But England replied strongly and still have 10 wickets in tact. Anyways, now I plan to sleep by 2:30 am. I will go late to office tomorrow.

Diary 103: Work Again Day
Yesterday I slept at around 4:30 am. I was frustrated with the amount of work that I had to do. Gil sensed it already, and even asked me about others and their work. Anyways, Today I woke up at around 11:10 am. As expected I got a call from Ankit, who somehow was very unhappy that I didn't come to office. I explained him that I had to work till 4 am, and I rectified a lot of issues and added a new section altogether. He didn't seem convinced, but I didn't care. I decided that today I will not work late whatever be the case. Today, we again started mass integration of our codes. Ankit had to implement some functionality, so I just noted down my changes and waited for Ankit to send me an updated version. Meanwhile, I started looking at the part which was built by Mukund. I was shocked to see the bad design of the code. I realized that this is also a section where I have to contribute. I didn't tell Mukund to his face that his code was bullshit, and instead acted as if I was unaware of everything. Anyways, I designed it in my way and used the correct input files. The output was smooth now, and nothing was missed in the target. In fact, I added a totally new section also. I completed Mukund's 3 to 4 days' work in 1 hour or so. Although, I was proud of myself, but I was disgusted again by the ratio of appreciation and work done. No one other than Gil thanked me for my commendable effort and dedication to the project. Well, I realized something. My colleagues were IITians, who don't have the word "appreciation" in their dictionary. Anyways, I got the updated project from Ankit and made all the required changes. I sent that project to the rest, and started random testing. Since my trust on Mukund's code was null and void, I decided to look into his other sections too. But before that, I took a break from work and went to the other room to discuss random stuff with my mom and sister. After that we had some Tea, and I moved back to my room. I started looking into Mukund's other code, and tried to work on it from scratch. I kept on working till around 9:30 pm, and then realized that at least here the problem is not with the code. So, I stopped there itself. I went online to check if there was any new mail. Then, I had my dinner, and after that started writing this post. Now, I plan to sleep by 11:15 pm. I will go to office tomorrow. Also, Sushma was planning something for tomorrow, don't know what but I guess it will be a team lunch.
