Diary 101: Working on Weekend part 2 and Dad's Birthday

First of all, today is my Dad's birthday, so I will wish him a very happy birthday here.
Yesterday I slept at around 5:30 am. I was too much tired after working. Today I woke up at around 11:15 am. My dad and mom had to go for some meeting, and so I woke up, brushed my teeth, had some breakfast and then went online. I started working from where I left yesterday. I kept on working for the next few hours, and then we all had a late lunch at around 4:00 pm. Meanwhile, we decided that we would go for a movie and also for dinner to celebrate Dad's birthday. We decided to watch "Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara", and then eat at a restaurant named -"Flames" at Belapur. Anyways, I worked till 5:15 pm, and then got ready for the movie. I had already watched the movie so I was just going to revise the story. The show started at 6:30 pm, and ended at around 9 pm. There were some kissing scenes and some odd dialogues but somehow I managed to cut through the awkward moments. Then, we drove to CBD. The restaurant turned out to be quite good, and we enjoyed a hefty meal there. The bill came out to be Rs 1520.  Meanwhile, I got a call from Ankit who asked me to come to Office tomorrow as we would be integrating our codes. I was wondering who were "we" here, because most of the code has been developed by me only. Sarvesh didn't help today also, and Ankit's code was small but seemed important. Anyways, I started working again as soon as I came back home. I sent out few mails to update the status of the development. Sarvesh came in from no where, and I allotted him a very small task, which was done within 30 minutes or so. After that, I kept working till around 3:45 am, but then gave up. I was too tired after today, and needed a good rest. So, I decided to write this post and next I plan to sleep by 4:30 am.

Diary 100: Working on Weekend Part 1

First of all, congratulations to me. I have completed this long journey and have been patient enough to reach 100 Diary posts.
Yesterday I slept at around 5:30 am. I completed the movie - "Going the distance". It was just ok, and was rather a forgetful movie. Today I woke up at around 11 am. Mom and my sister were leaving for the parent teacher meeting in my sister's school. She will also get the answer sheets today. I brushed my teeth, had some Tea and then started working right away. Lot of work was needed to be done today. Also, it seemed that I was the only one who was serious with the work. Rest all were invisible throughout the day. Ankit was there always, but he was not much of a help since he was new to the project and had numerous doubts. Sarvesh, who said that he will work on Saturday night, never turned up. Mukund was visible for a while, but he was faced with some problem and then he vanished. Throughout the day, I kept on working on my portion. I had lunch in between, and then dropped off my sister at her tuition center. Then, Divyansh asked me if I was available to consult someone (a girl) regarding ISB. I accepted it without any hesitation. Well, she called me up. Her name was Deepika Solanki. She belongs to the same experience group as I do. Anyways, after the 30-45 minuted long call, I reverted back to work. Then, at around 7:00 pm, I left again to pick up my sister from tuition. We came back at around 8:30 pm. Then, mom prepared some "pakodas" for us, and we ate them all along with some Tea. Meanwhile, I heard that Rahul Dravid has announced his retirement from ODIs and T20s. Then, I came back to my room and started working. I realized then that Ankit has done nothing productive, and whatever done was half correct. So, I started rectifying his code and tried to make it work. Somehow, I reached a respectable level where I was able to get something out of it. Then, I had dinner before starting on more complex issues and development. Meanwhile, we all realized that it was already 12:00 am, and so we wished Dad a very happy birthday. He turned 54 tonight. Anyways, I was expecting Sarvesh to come online but he was no where to be seen. I didn't bother calling him up. Anyways, after working for few more hours, I decided to write this diary post. Now, I plan to continue working for some time, and then sleep by 5:00 am.

Diary 99: Office Day

Yesterday I slept at around 3:00 am. I completed the movie "Friends with Benefits". Today I woke up at around 7:45 am for the call. It started late at around 8:30 am and ended at around 8:50 am. After that, I got ready for office and left after having breakfast at around 9:35 am. I reached office at around 12:10 pm. Then, I just started working. The task was divided among us, and I got one of the most important sections of all. So, Sarvesh and I started working on it. For lunch, I had some Biryani, which was very costly indeed. Time was flying then, and I was not moving from my desk at all. Then, at around 4 pm, I got a call from the Webprint Guy, who was asking me about the status of the project. I somehow managed to tell him that we are going to start within a week. Then, I reverted to work, and continued non-stop till 5:35 pm. Then, I left in a hurry as I was late for the direct train. Somehow, I managed to reach there within time, and boarded the train without a ticket. Thankfully, there were no ticket conductors around. I reached home at around 7:45 pm. Then, I had some Tea and snacks. I watched the TV for a while, before moving back to my room to continue working on the tasks. Sarvesh was already reluctant to work on the weekend. Anyways, I continued working for some time. Then, I had my dinner at around 10:15 pm. I moved back to my room after that, and then started chatting with Mahak. She suggested me some more movies, and I decided to watch - "Going the Distance". I was multi tasking along with that, but later, I stopped working and focused completely on the movie. I was overall very tired today, so I was feeling very sleepy during the movie. Then, I remembered that I haven't written the diary yet. So, I gathered some Adrenaline and wrote this post. Also, today was Akshay's last day in Deloitte. Next, I plan to complete the movie and then sleep by 5:00 am.

Diary 98: Work and Movies Day

Yesterday I slept at around 4:30 am. Today, I woke up at around 11:10 am. I brushed my teeth, and went online. I got a ping from Ankit, who allotted me a section to work on. I was ready to work on it. But, I was not only figuring out the approach but also planning to code a bit of the design, so that I can test my design too. So, I worked for the next few hours. I was also listening to the linking park songs. I listened to few of them for the first time and I loved them - New Divide, Iridescent (which is a word for a surface or substance which changes color when we see towards it from different angles). I also had small discussions with Sarvesh regarding the designing part, because I had to make sure that we are all on the same page. At around 2:45 pm, I had lunch. After that, I moved back to my room and started working again. After completing the design and the coding of the part that was allotted to me, I informed Ankit and  also sent the project to the team. Then I received a design document where I noticed that the others are going for a source based design. My approach was different, it was target based. Later I asked Gil, and he was with me on this. But, he left the last opinion to Ankit. Also, Ankit asked me to come to office tomorrow so that we can discuss this thing. Moreover, Gil had scheduled a call at around 8 am in the morning. I was wondering whether I would be able to leave for office with my Dad or not. Anyways, after all this, I decided to watch a movie - "Yeh Saali Zindagi". I have heard good reviews about it. So, as I started watching I realized that it is full of foul words and all, and it quite realistic. So, I liked it. It was different and better than normal stuff going around in the market. Meanwhile, I had some Tea and started watching TV also. Today, I saw how an universe works, and more importantly how the planets are formed and why are they so different from each other. Then, I moved back to my room and continued watching the movie. Then, I had my dinner. Later, I had a small voice chat with Mahak. She was basically frustrated because her job search was killing her patience. Anyways, pretty soon I completed the movie and then moved on to the next movie which was - "Friends with Benefits". It was again suggested by Mahak, and I was anyways eagerly waiting for it. So, after lot of struggle with Google and viruses, I finally succeeded in getting a link which works. Then, I started writing this post. Next, I plan to watch that movie and then sleep by 2:30 am.

Diary 97: Movies Day part 2

Yesterday I slept at around 5:30 am. I was watching "Yamla Pagla Deewana", which turned out to be very boring. Also, I thought that "The life zindagi" was the movie "Yeh Saali Zindagi", which I will watch sometime. Today I woke up at around 1 pm. I was not shocked because I slept quite late anyways. Then, I brushed my teeth and went online. Then I saw a mail which said that Gil said that we have to build the project from the scratch. I was taken aback at first but later realized that it would be good for the sake of the project. I had a discussion with Sarvesh too and he also had the same opinion. Then, I looked at the existing code for a while before deciding to watch the movie "Makdee". Mahak told me that it is a very good movie, so I will give it a try. Also, I started watching "Ek Choti si Love Story". It had caused quite a furor among the broadcasting committee then, but I hardly saw a few scenes which were somewhat provocative. Meanwhile, I had my lunch, when I realized that my sister had lost 200 Rs in school. She claims that someone had stolen it from her bag. Then, I moved back to my room and continued watching the movies. Then, at around 6:30 pm, I was feeling sleepy so I had a power nap till 8:00 pm. Then, my dad arrived from office and soon my sister also came back from tuition. I had some Tea, and then chicken soup. I watched the TV for a while. I was mainly watching Nat Geo, where I found out about some interesting facts such as Eggs are 10 times more stronger vertically than they are horizontally and also about the fact that magnets can destroy hard disks - which is partially true because the magnet has to be very big and must have high magnetic field. After that, I moved back to my room and completed the movies. Then I decided to watch "Rocket Singh", which was again suggested by Mahak. Meanwhile, I had my dinner and then came back to start watching it. I also took a mock interview of Mahak and gave her few guidelines on interviews. After that, I started watching the movie, and I was loving it. It was again about business and how a simple below average guy goes on to challenge one of the biggest sales company in the region. I liked the simplicity of the movie. Then, I started writing this post and now, I plan to sleep by around 4:15 am.
